Legal & Terms

The terms for using ElBee Player and this website.

Last updated 27 October 2026

In plain words: ElBee Player is a media player, like any other. ElBeeHQ makes software. We are not an IPTV service, and we provide no channels, streams, playlists, programme guides, subscriptions or content of any kind. You choose and use your own service, and you alone are responsible for having the right to watch, record or download what you play.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to ElBee Player (“the app”) and to this website, elbeehq.com. “ElBeeHQ”, “we” and “us” mean the independent developer of the app and the website; “you” means anyone who downloads or uses the app or visits the website. By downloading, installing or using the app, or using this website, you agree to these terms and to the app's licence. If you don't agree, don't use them.

2. ElBee Player is software, not a service

3. Your responsibility

4. No circumvention

ElBee Player contains no feature designed to bypass encryption, digital rights management, copy protection, region restrictions, paywalls or other access controls, and it must not be used, modified or combined with anything else to do so.

5. Copyright and content complaints

We don't host, store or transmit any content played in the app, and we have no ability to remove, block or alter content provided by a third-party service. Complaints about particular content should be sent to the service or website that provides or hosts it. If you believe something on this website or in the app itself infringes your rights, please tell us through the contact form and we'll look into it promptly.

6. Licence

ElBee Player is free for your own personal, non-commercial use on Macs you own or control, under the ElBee Player Licence, which you can also read in the app (Settings › About › Licence). Unless the licence or the law allows it, you may not copy, redistribute, sell, rent, sublicense, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the app, or remove its notices. The licence ends automatically if you break it. Third-party components in the app are covered by their own licences (see section 11).

7. No warranty

The app and this website are provided “as is” and “as available”, without any warranty, condition or representation of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise that the app will work with any particular service, stream, device or version of macOS, that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that it will keep being developed, updated or offered.

8. Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, ElBeeHQ is not liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from or connected with the app, this website, any service or content you use with the app, or these terms. This includes indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, recordings, downloads, playlists or settings, loss of profit, and any money you pay to a third-party service. Where liability can't be excluded but can be limited, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the app, which is nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, or any rights you have as a consumer that cannot be taken away.

9. Your use and claims by others

To the extent the law allows, you agree to be responsible for, and to compensate ElBeeHQ for, any claims, losses or costs (including reasonable legal costs) brought against or suffered by us that arise from your use of the app in breach of these terms, its licence or the law, including from content you access, record or download.

10. No affiliation and trademarks

ElBee Player and ElBeeHQ are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any broadcaster, content owner, sports body, IPTV service, Apple, VideoLAN or Sparkle. Any other names and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility. Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc.

11. Third-party software

The app includes third-party software, including VLCKit (LGPL 2.1 or later) and Sparkle (MIT), each under its own licence. Their licences and notices are in the app under Settings › About. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under those licences.

12. This website

The content of this website is for general information and may change or be removed at any time without notice. Links to other websites, such as GitHub, are provided for convenience, and we're not responsible for their content or policies. You may not use this website in any way that is unlawful or that harms it or its users.
